HOW DO I KNOW?
You may be experiencing nervous system dysregulation when your body has difficulty moving out of a stress response and returning toward recovery.
It can show up as feeling wired, shut down, reactive, restless, disconnected or exhausted—sometimes even when nothing appears to be wrong.
“The question isn’t: Am I calm?
It’s: Can my system respond—and then recover?”
WHAT CAN DYSREGULATION FEEL LIKE?
WIRED
Racing thoughts, tension, restlessness
REACTIVE
Irritability, overwhelm, feeling easily triggered
BRACED
Breath-holding, shallow breathing, difficulty relaxing
SHUT DOWN
Numbness, withdrawal, feeling disconnected
EXHAUSTED
Tired but unable to truly rest
STUCK
Repeating stress patterns even after the stressor has passed
One sign alone doesn’t define dysregulation.
Look for patterns, repetition and your ability to recover.

CALM ISN’T THE SAME AS REGULATED.
Your nervous system isn’t designed to stay calm all day.
It is designed to respond.
To activate when something requires your attention.
To mobilize when action is needed.
To rest when the demand has passed.
Regulation is flexibility—
not permanent calm.
The goal isn’t to stop feeling.
It’s to become capable of staying present with what you feel.
START WITH CURIOSITY
What happens to my breath when I’m stressed?
Where does my body brace?
Do I speed up—or shut down?
How long does it take me to recover?
Awareness gives you
somewhere to begin.
READY TO GO DEEPER?
Understanding the pattern is the beginning.
Practice teaches you how to work with it.
Your nervous system is communicating with you.
LEARNING ITS LANGUAGE CAN CHANGE EVERYTHING.
